It is understood that Manchester United will fly to Chicago on Tuesday to kick off their pre-season tour of the United States, with players including Alejandro Garnacho, Jadon Sancho, and Antony not set to travel with the team.
Manchester United are under pressure to sell Garnacho, Sancho, Antony, and Tyrell Malacia. Earlier, Erik ten Hag made it clear that none of these players are in his plans for next season, and the club has stated its support for the Portuguese manager’s decision.
As for Garnacho, he drew interest from Chelsea and Napoli back in January, with United initially valuing him at £60-70 million. However, suitors of the Argentine forward believe that as his situation at Old Trafford grows increasingly difficult, he could now be signed for around £40 million. Aston Villa, Tottenham Hotspur, and Chelsea are all thought to be monitoring him closely, while Garnacho himself prefers to stay in the Premier League.
Sancho’s contract with United expires next summer, and he is likely to leave on loan before the transfer window closes on September 1, with Juventus among the interested clubs. Four years ago, United paid Borussia Dortmund £73 million to sign the English forward.
United initially priced Antony at around €45 million at the start of the summer, but Real Betis are unhappy with this valuation. Betis would prefer another loan deal, while United want to sell the Brazilian forward permanently to raise funds for reinvestment in the team.
Left-back Malacia, a Dutch defender signed from Feyenoord for £14.7 million three years ago, spent the second half of last season on loan at PSV Eindhoven. However, selling him this summer is unlikely to fetch a high transfer fee regardless.
